week 3

Again a week is over and it’s already the 3. one.. The whole working week seemed to be very short because we did quite a lot. On Monday we got another flat mate, Brian from Australia with Malaysian roots. He’s a nice guy who tries to live healthy all the time. So when we girls eat ice cream as a dessert he starts eating apples or other fruits :D Even when we went to the KFC he got something else to eat… Maria, the German girl who arrived the day before is still complaining about everything here and I have to listen to it all day because we share a room… I really hope it’ll change. But I don’t think so. She already told me and other people that she’s looking for another place to stay. So we will see…

On Wednesday I went to Port Louis to do some shopping. And I was successful, I bought a new pair of shoes J On the market someone opened a part of my bag to steal something from me but lucky me I realized it immediately!!! Thursday evening we went to the beach to celebrate Vera’s birthday there and watch the sunset. But we were like 5 minutes to late L So we only saw it from the car… Anyway the party was nice on the beach and we went swimming the whole time. You can’t imagine who many stars you can see, that’s really amazing!!!! And they seem to be so close!!! The next day we didn’t do much. The plan was to go out but nobody was really in to it so we stayed home watching a movie.. The next day Brian, Maria, Margot and I went to the beach, one that is quite close to our place and we wanted to meet other people there. We knew exactly how to get there and told the people at the bus station. They told us that there is no bus going to the town where we have to change the bus. So we had to go via Quatre Borne what takes much longer. Actually the whole journey took us about 2 hours and the bus driver dropped us at the wrong place, in the middle of nowhere… When we found the beach it was the completely wrong one and about 3 km away from Tamarin where we wanted to go. So back on the main road we waited for another bus to bring us back but there was no… So we stopped a little truck who brought us back J So going to the beach took us more than 3 hours :D That’s life in Mauritius!!! :D

After only 2 hours of sleep we had to get up again to go to Grand Baie on Sunday morning to go on a catamaran which sailed with us to an island in the North. That was such a cool day. A lot of sun, waves, sailing and then ending up on a little beautiful island with white sand and clear blue/turquoise water. After 1,5 hours on the island we went back on the boat to have bbq. Yammi the food was soooooo good!! Later, some of us went back into the water to snorkel a bit. We saw funny and quite big fish. On the way back we met two South-African guys of whom one the sun of the owner of the boat was. So that’s why we could stay on the boat for a longer time and had a lot of cocktails there. Later we went to a little restaurant and then to the Red Cat, a beach club where we did karaoke the whole time. That was a lot of fun :D
